The Africa MICE Expo 2025, held at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi from June 12th to 13th, brought together key players from across the continent to discuss, showcase, and shape the future of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) in Africa. With delegates drawn from national tourism boards, hotel chains, event organizers, technology providers, and global travel partners, the event served as both a marketplace and a think tank for the continent’s MICE ecosystem.

One of the highlights from the opening ceremony was a keynote address by Mr. Hasnain Noorani, Managing Director of PrideInn Hotels, Resorts & Camps. In his remarks, Mr. Noorani underscored the strategic opportunity for Africa; particularly Kenya, to position itself as a hub for regional and international business tourism.

“Africa has both the ambition and the capacity to lead in MICE tourism. What’s needed now is greater collaboration between governments and the private sector to improve infrastructure, streamline event logistics, and offer competitive value to global planners,” said Mr. Noorani.

Kenya’s geographic position, improved air connectivity, and growing infrastructure investment continue to make it a compelling choice for business travel and conferencing. With Nairobi serving as a major transport and commercial hub, the country is increasingly attracting international expos, corporate retreats, and government summits.

The Africa MICE Expo 2025 reinforced this momentum, with exhibitors and speakers highlighting the importance of investing in conference-ready facilities, professional event services, and digital solutions to meet evolving industry demands.

PrideInn Hotels, Resorts & Camps, was among the leading exhibitors at the event, showcasing its capabilities across business travel, conferencing, and events through an immersive and well-branded stand.

At the tail end of the event, PrideInn was recognized with the “Best Stand” award, a reflection of the creativity, attention to detail and brand positioning evident in their stand execution.

The discussions at this year’s Expo pointed to a clear takeaway: the MICE sector is not just about infrastructure or hotel capacity, it’s also about strategy. Success will depend on aligning policy with investment, promoting regional travel synergies, and developing talent pipelines for hospitality and event professionals.

Kenya’s active participation in the Africa MICE Expo highlights the country’s potential to become a leading MICE destination. However, sustained progress will require cross-sector partnerships, innovation, and continued investment in destination marketing.
